Tell the truth.

"Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who deal truthfully are His delight." Pr 12:22 NKJV

Rosalie Elliot made it to the fourth round of a national spelling contest in Washington, DC. The eleven-year-old from South Carolina was asked to spell the word avowal. In her soft southern accent, she spelled the word, but the judges were unable to determine if she had used an a or an e as the next-to-last letter. They debated among themselves for several minutes as they listened to the recording, but it was too accent-blurred to decipher. Finally, the chief judge put the question to the only person who knew the answer. "Was the letter an a, or was it an e?" he asked Rosalie. By this time, being surrounded by whispering young spellers, Rosalie knew the correct spelling of the word. Still, without hesitation, she replied that she had misspelled the word, and she walked from the stage.

The entire audience stood and applauded, including some fifty newspaper reporters. The moment was a proud one for her parents. Even in defeat, she was a victor. Indeed, more has been written about Rosalie Elliot over the years than about the "unknown" winner of the event.

As a redeemed child of God, your heavenly Father requires honesty in word and deed.

  • "The truthful lip shall be established forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment" (Pr 12:19 NKJV).
  • Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds" (Col 3:9 NKJV).
  • "Therefore, put away lying, 'Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor, for we are members of one another" (Eph 4:25 NKJV).

Tell the truth "Put away lying."

SPEAKER_01

Um today, we thank you, oh Lord, because you will speak to us, you minister to us, and you will help us, oh Lord, to be transformed in the mighty name of Jesus. We pray, oh Lord, that for all of us that we talking, oh Lord, we pray you will be oracles for you, oh Lord. We will speak, oh Lord, from you, oh Lord, and we will not from our own understanding in the mighty name of Jesus. Father Lord, we pray, oh Lord, that we will be doers of the word that we hear today, not just hearers. And you help us to also teach other people in the mighty name of Jesus. Father Lord, we thank you. We appreciate you. We glorify you. Thank you, Jesus, for your blood that was shed, that gives us the privilege of being in the Holy of Holies. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for the ministration that quickened our hearts to come here. Thank you, three and one God, for in Jesus' name we have prayed. Amen. Amen. Amen. Good morning, good morning. We thank the Lord for his mercies. We glorify the Lord for another day. And

Tell The Truth And Define Lying

SPEAKER_01

today we're talking about tell the truth. That is our topic for today, tell the truth. And the subtitle is that you know, we shouldn't tell lies, we should not tell lies. And of course, um, a lie, by definition, you know, we all have what we call the white lies, or we have lie of omission, you know, where we don't say the whole thing. Voilies when we make a statement or omit with the intent to deceive. With the intent to deceive. You know, it's just like if somebody says, Are you home? because they want to come and visit you, but you're like, um, no, I'm not home. But you know you're home. You know, or you know you're at the store, you are just gonna be at your house in five minutes. You're like, oh no, I'm not home. I'm I'm on the road, but you know you'll be home in five minutes. But that was just intent to deceive because you didn't want that person to disturb you, you didn't want that person to come and visit you. So, and we all do it. Or maybe I shouldn't say we all do it, a lot of us do it, unfortunately, and that's why we're talking about this here, where we tell those white lies for different reasons, and we're here to help us to do better. So, as I was looking into this, I was like, okay, what are the reasons why we even lie? What are the reasons why we decide to lie? And it's all it comes down to protecting something. As I was reading on psychology today, we can be protecting ourselves. We want to avoid a consequence, we want to avoid shame, we want to avoid embarrassment, we want to avoid conflict. You know, you forgot to turn in that project at work because maybe you were at a function, you stayed out late, you helped to clean, you helped to do that, and then you slept off and you couldn't, you missed the deadline. You now lie that, oh, I was not feeling good, I wasn't feeling well. Ah, I just you know, I just couldn't do it. Whereas you know that's not true. But you're lying to avoid the consequence, or sometimes it'd be because you want to protect some interests. You might lie on your resume because you want to look better, you want to make sure you get that job, so you now say what you you put stuff on there that you don't you haven't done before, or you want to protect your image when somebody ah too, this person was talking bad about me. You were dead. Did you stand up for me? Oh, yes, I stood up for you. You know me now, I have your back. Whereas I didn't say anything, I was just looking like Lucuzid, but I don't want to look like a bad friend, or I don't want to look like a wimp to protect my image. Oh, did you burst

Why We Lie To Protect Ourselves

SPEAKER_01

out? I heard somebody yelling. Was that you? That person was uh-uh, no, that wasn't me, or you know me, I'm a gentle person. That wasn't me yelling, or even to protect our resources, like we're talking about time. Time is a valuable resource. Somebody wants to come and visit you, you are tired. Like, are you you are you home? I want to come and say hello. No, I'm not home, no, I'm not. Maybe another day, and you now lie, you know, or sometimes we even lie to protect other people's feelings. We've I know this is one of the most common amongst us. Somebody says, Ah, do you? I just cooked that person that has been in the kitchen for hours, they cooked that food, they're like, Oh, how what does it taste like? And you're like, Okay, it's good. Because you don't want to lie, because you want to protect that person's feelings, you don't want them to feel bad. You yourself don't even want to feel bad when you hurt their feelings when they've just done their hair. Ah, this hair, I love the style. What do you think? Yeah, yeah, it looks okay, it looks good, whereas you don't like it. And all of us, I need to stop saying all of us, most of us, unfortunately, I'm in the category of the people that will be telling the white lies, and we're here today to challenge each and every one of us to stop with the lies. The unfortunate thing is we justify it, we justify it. We think about the person that's been cooking for God knows how many hours, and the food does not taste good. You're like, oh yes, that's good, that's good. Or like, well, you know, you don't want to kill their spirit now, you don't want to hurt their feelings, they've been working hard all day. Or even like a child, for instance, a child has labored in the kitchen, brought some cake that doesn't even look good at all. And we lie. But there are alternatives to it, we don't have to lie, and that's why we're here today to talk about it. Because inherent in all this, honestly, is number one a lack of trust in God, and a lack of reverence for God, a lack of trust that everything will be okay. Because we all say we're like, oh, God is sovereign, we all say it. We all say, oh, God will cause everything to work together for good, the good, the bad, and ugly. We say it. But when it comes to the practice of it, do we live our lives like we believe it? If you fell asleep and you forgot to turn that project in, do you believe that everything will work together for good? Or do you be like, ah, I have to lie you? Hey, this cannot be a blemish on my record. Ah, they will fire me. I cannot. I cannot. Do you truly trust that God is able to work everything together for good? That God knew was going to happen from the beginning of time and God already made provision? Do you believe it? Do I believe it? Or do we even have reverence for God? Because we know the Lord does not like lying. And we're going to read on that just now. Do we have reverence for God? Or are we more worried about ourselves or others? Are we more worried about ourselves or others versus being worried about God, being pleasing God? Are we people pleasers or self-pleasers versus God pleasers? So God will help us because it's we are all works in progress, and that's why this topic is good to

Trusting God When Truth Costs

SPEAKER_01

remind us and to challenge us and to help us to do better. And God will help us in Jesus' name. So today, our Bible verse is from the books of from the book of Proverbs. Proverbs 12. Proverbs 12.22. And it says over here, it says, lying lips are an abomination to the Lord. Those who deal truthfully are his delight. Hallelujah. Lying lips are an abomination. Like another version says, the Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in those who tell the truth. Those who act faithfully are his delight. Those who have the trust in him, those who are brave enough to tell the truth, knowing that he's got their back. Those who are courageous enough and trust him enough to tell the truth, irrespective of what it looks like, what it feels like. Because at the back of their mind, they know that he'll work it together for good. Because at the back of their mind they are saying, I will not sin against God. Remember Joseph. When Potiphar's wife was trying to um was assaulting him and trying to get him to sleep with her, he's like, How can I sin against God? Yes, nobody might know, but how can I sin against God? And even when we tell those small lies, quote unquote, that we're like, ah, nobody will know. At the back of our minds, are we thinking to ourselves, but how can I sin against God? Because it's the Lord does not like it, because God detests it. And that's why Jesus said that it's simple, Matthew 5.37. Matthew 5.77, let what you say be simply yes or no. Anything more than this comes from evil. Let your yes be yes and let your no be no. Because anything more than this comes from the evil one, anything more than this comes from the flesh. When we start thinking about ways to look better, when we start thinking about ways to um manipulate

the situation, when we start looking at thinking of ways to avoid conflicts, consequences, we're now thinking of ourselves versus God. And God will help us. So let me jump into the reading. We're talking about tell the truth. Rosalie Elliott made it to the fourth round of a national spelling contest in Washington, D.C. The 11-year-old from South Carolina was asked to spell the word a vowel. That is A-V-O-W-A-L. In her soft southern accent, she spelled the word. But the judges were unable to determine if she had used an A or an E as the next to the last letter. They debated amongst themselves for several minutes as they listened to the recording, but it was too accent-blurred

to decipher. Finally, the chief judge put the question to the only person who knew the answer. Was the letter an A or was it an E? He asked Rosalie. By this time, being surrounded by whispering young spellers, Rosalie knew the correct spelling of the word. Still, without hesitation, she replied that she had misspelled the word and she walked from the stage. Hallelujah. Look at that courage from this young lady. Now, if she had lied and said, I said A, nobody would know. She is the only one, only person who knew the answer. Even in the recording which the judges played, they could not tell. And that's why they asked her. And even though she had misspelled it, she now had the correct answer. Because everybody around her had told her, ah, this is the correct answer. This is the correct answer. But without hesitation, she replied that she had misspelled the word. Would we be thinking about because as she's doing that spelling B, a spelling contest, if she goes further, or even if she wins it, there are a lot of scholarships that will be awarded with it. There will be some recognition that she'll get from being the winner. Even if she goes to the third round, or even if she's second place, third place, it goes with recognition. So she could have been thinking about all those interests, thinking about her personal interest, thinking about you know what she will lose if she tells the truth. What would I lose if I tell the truth? What would I gain if I lie? Who would it hurt if I lie? Will it matter if I lie? It's just a uh it's just a little bit now. It's it's nothing like Rosalie could have thought to herself, if I lie, who is it gonna hurt? But she told the truth, and it says without hesitation, I thank the Lord for her life that she made that right decision. Because if she had lied, she wouldn't have, nobody would have known, but of course, she would have known, and if she had lied, that would have made it easy to tell the next lie, make it easier to tell the next lie and the next lie after that. Because that's what the devil does. You say, just do this small thing, it doesn't matter. In every area where we sin, it starts, or where one eventually one might fall, it starts with one small step. If you just be on social media for five minutes, you are fine, 30 minutes, one hour. As you are ignoring the Holy Spirit, you ignore him this time, you ignore him again, ignore him again, next thing you know, you are dull. But Rosalie niped that in the bud. She said, No, I'm not going down that route. And I thank the Lord for her life. So I continue. The entire audience stood and applauded, including some 50 newspaper reporters. The moment was a proud one for her parents. Hallelujah. Thank the Lord for her parents. I mean, that's why we're always thanking the Lord and praying for our parents, for all parents, that parents who should have the wisdom and the grace to lead children aright, because it's not easy to be a parent, especially in this dispensation. It's not easy. But we thank the Lord that the parents had imparted the word of God in her life. That's why they are never too young. No child is ever too young to start speaking the word of God over them. The kingdom of darkness doesn't care how old the child is. They start young to be attacking our children. So we two can start young. I know she was she's 11, yeah, 11-year-old. No matter how young, we can start impacting the word of God. And we'll be surprised that they learn even when they can talk as we are reading the word to them and showing by example. And God will help us in Jesus' name. So the moment was a proud one for her parents. Even in defeat, she was a victor. Hallelujah. Even in quote-unquote defeat, she did not win the spelling contest. Yes, she was knocked out of that round. But she was victorious. Her parents were proud. Look at she was a great example to everybody around. She made the Lord proud because she didn't lie. And that's where we will come from, too, you and me. Both of us will come from a place of we want to glorify the Lord. All of us will come from a place of we want to honor our Heavenly Father. We want to be set apart like God is. Holy is set apart. We should be perfect. Perfect as take on that righteousness of Jesus upon us. Even as He is perfect, even as He is holy, we live in the manner what they have our calling. And that will make us victorious, even when things don't look like they are going well. So, indeed, more has been written about Rosalie Elliott over the years than about the unknown winner of the event. Can you imagine? Like we're talking about Rosalie Elliott that was knocked out the fourth round. We don't even know the name of the person who won. I'm sure we could look it up. But the 50 reporters talked about her, you know, they put it all over the news. I'm sure she even overshadowed the winner. Because she chose to be courageous and not worry about herself, not worry about what she's going to lose if she tells the truth. She was more interested in her integrity and in truth telling. And God will

Truthful Words And Consistent Actions

SPEAKER_01

help us. So as a redeemed child of God, your heavenly father requires honesty in word and deed. In word and deed, that is important. Because sometimes we'll say something, but we'll not even do it. As we've talked about integrity before, our words and our deeds need to be in alliance. They need to be congruent. It's not an easy task, but we can do all things through Christ. So the truthful lips shall be established forever, for a lying tongue is but for a moment. That is Proverbs 12:19, right there. That's in Proverbs 12 that we read. The writer goes on to say, do not lie to one another since you have put off the old man with his deeds. That is Colossians 3:9. Do not lie one to another. We have put off the old man with deeds. We have put off the era where we're lying to protect ourselves. We're lying not to look bad. We're lying to look good. We're lying to save faith. We're lying to protect our interests. We're lying because we don't want anybody to disturb us. We're lying because we don't know what will happen if we tell the truth. We're lying because we don't want to suffer the consequences. No, we have put off all those. Because now we're in Christ Jesus and we trust Him that He'll take care of everything. We trust Him that when we tell the truth, it will be okay. So lastly, the write up says, Therefore, put away lying. Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor, for we are members of one another. That is Ephesians 4 25. Hallelujah. Put away. It's an active thing. It's an active thing. Put away lying. Let's speak the truth to each other. We all like it when people tell us the truth in all honesty. We don't want anybody to just be brash with us or rash or you know, just saying it anyhow. But we all like the truth. We can speak it. We're all members to each other. Can you imagine if your foot is hurting and your brain doesn't alert you that your foot is hurting? We've seen people like that actually that have neuropathy in their foot that because of um their nerves are not working well, then they end up getting amputated because their brain is not communicating well with their foot. We don't want that in our body of Christ when there is no good communication and truth telling. Somebody might be severed when we don't tell the truth. So that's why we pray to God that God will give us wisdom, God will give us that courage, and God will give us the kindness to speak the truth. And God will help us

Identity In Christ Versus Shame

SPEAKER_01

to do that which will glorify Him. In Jesus' name. Amen. The floor is open for contributions, please.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, good morning, uh Sister Tolo. Thank you very much for the way you've taken this. I think my my contribution comes in what you already referenced. I think when you think about lying, I I I think I need the the tr the point that is the path that is pointed to me in there is it's just we'll what is question us to lie, you know. You know, why why do we truly, you know, do this? And when you think about the the reference point about the foundation of the child and the confidence that it's been built up to be able to stand for the truth, even with the consequences, you know, to be able to, you know, truly leave that out, no matter what the c consequences, is very key for us because most of us, like you said, we try to safe it. But what is the this you know, just like yesterday we talked about you know anger, there's something that needs to be dealt with, you know, the insecurity, the shame that we've grown up, grown up with that is inspiring us or that is making us lie, and you've made a point that is it now we're in in Christ, then that means we need to truly understand our identity now, that whatever is costing us to lie, whatever things that we can stand up to, if we know who we are in Christ, then it helps us to be able to stand firm in face of that and you know and be able to tell the truth, you know, knowing that the even though the immediate consequences are is gonna be late, but the true reward is standing firm in faith. When you think about the story and analogy of today, the lady, you know, she didn't want, the young lady didn't win, but you know, she she she won there was a better reward for her because you know people can use our story and she can inspire people onto good works, onto staying firm and faith, instead of you know taking that initial time and fading away through time, you know, and most of us we you know in the instance we you know the pressure of life and you know the the the the instant I I like the way the word you use like quote unquote you know failed it is not true failure. The true failure is if we remain in a fallen state, you know, we try to protect ourselves in that situation, and it happens to the best of us because you know we don't want like you said like that's what I'm trying to reference in what you've already used. That's what I like the way you went through it. You know, we want to protect ourselves, we wanna, you know, we don't want somebody to feel bad. We don't, you know, all those things instead of you know letting God help us reveal his will and mind because it's gonna help the person, because like you said, just imagine me lying to somebody to prop them up all of a sudden they go to a place all this while with confidence, thinking they are the best, and they go there and they fall flat. Well, because we've not told them the truth to help them to be able to truly deal with this the the issues that are they're struggling with in the place of oh we're just you know helping or we ourselves in a place of work that we you know we fall face flat because we've built our you know uh uh we've built our house based on out of cards of lies and all those things that you know and and there's something inside that is you know if we find ourselves always trying to manipulate things, then it's still an issue that we need to. And like you said, it goes back to the identity that we have now. Okay, all this insecurity, all this shame, all these things that we've struggled with based on the way we've grown in our society or the way maybe we were brought up, that we needed that you know, like you know, in in a place of our relationships, maybe for us to be able to, you know, to to to to to to you know to for people to respect us or for us to be able to roll with the friends that we had, we need to come up with little lies to prop ourselves. Um but once we're in it, we will have to we have to stay in character for a long time because if we break character, then all those things fall flat. So we try to come with another form of lies and all those things. But there's something in us, you know, that we need to fix. And if we come to the revelation of our new identity, that even though we, you know, we to people that we we're not, you know, we're not we don't represent what they represent, but now we're in Christ Jesus, and I think that can help us to overcome and to be able to just tell it, okay, this is who I am. I'm not, you know, okay, you know, I'm all those things I used to say about myself were untrue, but now I'm in Christ, you know. It's not a get out of jail card. There's still consequences for you know all those things, but it helps us to you know become who we are called to truly become to truly become. And I hope God will help us. Thank you very much.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you, sir. Thank you for going back to taking it back to identity in Christ in honesty, identity, and we when we really, really think about it, that okay, I'm a new creation, I identify as royalty as a child of the most high God now. If I they are they say today I'm going to be adopted into British royalty, how would I behave? Will I still behave as if I'm behaving now? The same thing. You know, we're now in that royal priesthood. How are we behaving? How are we talking? Now we're answering to a higher power. If I'm adopted into British royalty, I will be answering to King So and so child and all those people. Those will be the one that I'll have my allegiance to, and the same thing with God. We are now real priesthood chosen. So our allegiance is to God, He is the one that we will and defer to. And we the immediate consequences may be jarring, but the true reward, like you said, is in Christ. The true reward is in God's saying, Well done, good and faithful servant. And God will help us to really, really know who we are in Him and to know we're in new creation. And yes, even though it's a learning process, we can always stop and change our um ways at any time. We don't have to keep going the wrong direction that I've already been seeing this life for so long. Let me just continue. We could actually do it. The consequences would be rough, but we could make that change and trusting that God is in control. And like you said, all of us, you know, even as I'm talking, I'm I'm like, I can't say this too much. That's me. I'm I lie. See, and this is what we're talking about trying to cover up. But once we speak the truth, it sets us free, and we can do better. God will help us, God will help me with all the white lies in Jesus' name. Amen. More contributions, please.

SPEAKER_03

Good morning, sister. Thank you so much for how you have handled the devotion. Ah thank you, Pastor Ayo.

SPEAKER_04

Actually, when I read this and I look at it, um, you know, it says tell what I actually grab there is tell the truth, tell the truth. In other words, you've been lying before, or it's part of you before, but tell the truth, realizing your new identity in Christ. We need to tell the the the the truth, and I started examining some of the reasons why we lie. Why do we lie? Why, you know, as children, sometimes fear of punishment or what have you may want to make you tell a liar. Hey, if I tell my dad it's gonna kill me or gonna do this or that, and but as an adult, I'm not justifying children lie in any way, I'm just looking at some of the things that make us lie, you know, because I was looking at the advice, tell the truth. I see it as an advice, and if there is why do I lie? Fear. First thing that came to me is fear, you know, at fear, and I said, Well, could it be fear of punishment? Could it be fear of inadequacy? Could it be fear? Any form of fear, it could you and you know fear is a terrible thing. Yeah, when those come to you, you want to, it's like looking for a box to hide in so that nobody will see you and things like that. So I think that fear, we need to put away fear. We have talked about fear a lot of times, you know, that maybe when I tell the truth, they are going to beat me, nobody will beat us. And we should also also, as believers, remember that Jesus Christ is still very much available for us, the grace is still very much available for us, even though you lie, you can always go back and make restitution, you know, and say, Oh, I lied. It may be difficult for you to come and tell. I remember when we were when we were younger and we were being taught this thing in school, and I mean in Bible school or Bible Bible class, okay. How you conquer it is once you tell a lie, be prepared to go back to tell the truth and say, Okay, what I told you the other time is a lie. Maybe the thought of going back, the shame of going back to go and lie, to go and tell the truth that you lie will help you, you know, to not to lie. But we need the help of God, we need the help of the Holy Spirit, but we need to be determined, we need to be determined by ourselves and make up our mind that look, I have a new identity in Christ, and I must tell the truth, yeah. But you see, this acceptability issue is a is a is another big one. Do you know that ordinarily in the church, when you talk about oh, last Saturday was supposed to be evangelism, how many people came for evangelism? How many people came? Okay, put up your hand if you came for evangelism. You will see the number of people that will put up their hands, but then those who did not come, some people that did not come will also put up their hand that they came. So, ah, but I didn't say you, oh, as I got into the church, you people had just left. It happened, it happened, and and then they say, Oh, I'm sorry. You know, I was just ashamed that everybody came for evangelism, and I was the only person that didn't turn up, so I put up my my my my my my my hand so that I could cover up, you know. I'm looking at the the reasons why we tell lie. We want to cover up, we want to cover our inadequacies, you know. But these are things that even when we when we tell the truth, nobody is going to kill us for it. You might be looked down on, you might be despised at that point in time. Look at the look at the story of that little girl in our devotional today. She owned up. She owned up. God will help us and grant us the grace to be honest, you know, to be honest and realize that we have a new identity in Christ. God will help us in Jesus' name.

SPEAKER_01

Amen. Thank you so much, ma. Thank you. No honesty. We have to be determined to not let fear or loss of or fear of the loss of something rule or our minds or guide our actions. We should let the word of God, we should let the fear of God guide our guide us instead of the fear of what people say, the fear of looking bad, the fear of punishment, the fear of the consequences, the fear of losing faith, all those things. You know, especially a lot of not honestly, a lot of us, 99% of us don't like tell bold face lies. It's those lies where we're just trying to say face here and there, like, ah, okay, this person I um cooked. I don't want to tell them that their cooking is horrible, you know. Or did you get here at 10 o'clock? Oh no, I was here at 9.58. You know, when those quote unquote small lies for the little foxes that spoil the vine, right? It's those little things that make that we need to deal with, and we to like Mummy said, the insecurity and Brah said our identity. We should always be thinking about the fact that is dishonoring God, whether we can see it or not. That's why the Bible says whatever we should do, we should do to the glory of God. Whether we're eating or drinking, everything should be to the glory of God because God is always present, God always knows. And we have the Holy Spirit of the living God living within us. We're not supposed to grieve Him. It's not us just in the big sins, quote unquote big sins, but even the light, tiny, tiny things, because those tiny things end up becoming bigger and bigger and bigger. So we need to nip it in the bud, no matter what it may be. Whatever the reason why we're telling those lies, whether they are big lies or small lies, most of us don't do the big lies, thank the Lord for his mercies. But even if we're doing the big lies, we should turn around, we should stop it, and we should ask for repentance, and we should make up our minds to tell the truth. Like mommy has rightly admonished us again, tell the truth, and God will help us in Jesus' name. Do we have any other contributions? Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. Good morning, man.

SPEAKER_05

Thank you, good morning, man. Thank you so much for the way you are taking today's devotional. And I just want to appreciate it because looking at it, you have covered everything, Brian covered everything as well. Mommy Lada Paul also covered it up, so there's nothing left again to you know, you know, to talk about looking at today's devotional, because the number one thing that needed to be, you know, spoke about was being you know alighted and brought up. And if they were all well enumerated very well, which is insecurity and also um our identity, you know, when we understand our identity in Christ, then we will know that okay, we are secure in him. So insecurity will not be an issue. Insecurity will not be an issue in our life again. You know, I like the way Briok put it so well, you know. Number one thing is because we are insecure, we are afraid, you know, we had we lack confidence and we believe that okay, the outcome might be bad, you know, and recognizing again that okay, our identity, we have a new identity in Christ. And I like the way you also made mention is that okay, we should not, you know, we should we should we should we should find a way to actually don't make the Holy Spirit, you know, we shouldn't, you know, provoke the Holy Spirit that is in us. We shouldn't. We shouldn't, because we we have a new identity, you know, we have already put down the old man. It's not easy, but we can still do it with the help of the Holy Spirit. We can do it with the help of the Holy Spirit because light tongue is for a moment, though, honestly, it's for a moment people will find, and also when people realize that you're such such a person like this, then you have lost, you know, you've losed um um how will I call it? Um credibility. Credibility, thank you. You've lost credibility completely,

Credibility At Work And In Business

SPEAKER_05

you know. And one thing is that you know, there is a day the Holy Spirit was speaking to me, telling me that he's not telling us not to walk. You know, I don't I can't remember what was the question I was asking Holy Spirit. I was wrestling back and forth with the Holy Spirit that day, and God was saying something. He said, I did not tell anyone of you not to walk, but in your walk, you should show that yes, you are really, really a child of God. Everything in you reflects the child of God. He said, I'm not saying you shouldn't walk. I shouldn't say that okay, you can only you know be doing you know, church thing, or because I think before I started business, that's what I was thinking. I was telling God that okay, God, I don't want to even start, I don't want to do anything, I just want to concentrate on you. I just want to, and later when I started, I was like, wow, what am I going to do now? And the Holy Spirit was telling me, let everything that you're doing, let it reflect God. So that way God can be, you know, be glorified. You know, and well, very well, every time when I'm, you know, doing my peanuts or when I'm doing life, you know, people will be asking me, Why are you filling the bottle to the brim? Why are you filling it up too much like that? Because they are watching, because I bottle it in front of people, and they were like, ah, you're put too much. And I said, You have to show, you know, whatever I'm but selling to you, I need to show you with the fear of God. That's number one thing, because I can decide not to make it full, because I'll collect my money from people. Okay, and another thing, aside from that, in everything that I'm doing, many a times, many of them will overpay, mistakenly overpay. I will call them back, reach back to them. Oh, you overpaid. And some of them will tell me that, oh, I did not overpay, it was a tip. Look at that. You can see the credibility, and you know, you have gained, you know, you know, you have gained that moment, and people can trust you more. That is what God wants us to be showing. Wherever we are at work, many a times, you know, when we late for work, we know how to use the white light. Very well. We are late. I've done it before. I'm not going to say I've not done it. That you say, Oh, I forgot my batch at home. That's why I didn't clock in. Meanwhile, you are three minutes late and you don't want it to show on the clock that you're three minutes late. And you will not go to your supervisor, oh, I forgot my batch at home because you're three minutes late. But now, you know, as we're in Christ, we have to shed all those things away. We need to be shedding them away. And how can we shed them away? It's by the power of the Holy Spirit because you cannot do it by yourself. It's like you made a mistake right now, and they said you made a mistake, you try to justify it, then you're still a baby. I'm sorry to tell you. I'm sorry to say it. If you made the mistake and you couldn't say that, yeah, uh I made a mistake, you're trying to justify or cover it up. You're still a baby. You're in fact the new man, the old man is still in you very well. Because one thing I believe is when you made a mistake, when people point it out for you, you become better. This God is very the God that we are serving is a very smart God. And if you walk with Him, you will see that in every area of your life, you're becoming brighter and brighter, sharper and sharper, wiser and wiser. But the moment that okay, just take that little blame that, oh yes, I made a mistake. Yes, agree. And people can quickly put you through that, yeah. This is how you're supposed to do it next time. May the Lord help or because of time. Let me stop.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you so much, ma. Thank you, ma. Thank you.

SPEAKER_05

You know, you'll take us home today. And Pastor, we can't hear you. I think the network where you hide is really very bad. While we're waiting for him, yeah, Mrs.

SPEAKER_03

I just can take over.

Invitation To Follow Jesus

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, she's taking over.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, while we're waiting on him. Yeah, if you haven't given your life to Christ Jesus, because I know pastor will contribute one way or the other, so let's give room to those who want that they haven't given their life to Christ Jesus to use this opportunity because you'll continue to live in a life of damnation, because you can see lying is just for a moment, it's just for a moment, it does not last longer. Yes, that is it. So if you don't even know Jesus Christ, you will see that your life is all full of lies. That to the point that people will start, you know, walking away from you, and you'll be losing credibility in everything that you're doing. So this morning, I just want to give you the opportunity to ask Jesus to come and take over your life. Yes. Ask him this morning that Lord Jesus take over my life from this moment, accept you as my Lord and personal savior. And if you can say that, you're welcome to a new, you know, family, a family of light, a family of hope, a family of a greater beginning. You're walking, you're welcome to that family, and all you just have to do this morning is to just you know um you know go on the browser or look for a Bible-believing church around you, let them know you just become a born again and they will work with you. Or we are located in the DMV area with Shantilly. If you want to, you know, join us, you can actually work, um, check our address on the browser, put our CCG Vitri Temple Chantilly on it, and it will direct you to where we are in Shantilly, Virginia. And uh that's all you just have to do so they can walk with you and put you through on how you can start this new beginning so that way you will know how to put off the old man and you start working in a new identity which is in Christ Jesus. And I pray that the Lord will help each one of us in the mighty name of Jesus. I just want to use this opportunity for every one of us to pray this morning because it is a it's a it's a it's a it's a it's a cause that needs to be removed in our life. Whenever we're living a life of you know lies, we are not you know, we're not actually

Prayer To Put Away Lying

SPEAKER_05

portraying the identity of that name that we you know profess in us, which is the name of Christ. So every time when we go out there, we do white lie, green lie, yellow lie, lie, lie. It's it's it's not portraying Christ, it's actually laying, you know, laying Jesus back on the cross. So this morning I want us to open our mouths and ask God that what that old man that is still existing in us, that the Lord should help us to put it off completely from this moment in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Father Lord Almighty, we need your help this morning. That old man in me, oh Lord, Father. I need your help, oh Lord, in all and the other area. Yesterday we talked about another. Yours might not be lying, yours might be anger.

SPEAKER_02

Let's pray this morning that Lord put up, oh Lord, that all this one way or the other, Father.

SPEAKER_05

Help me, help me this morning in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. To have confidence in Lord, to let my name be no and my yes to be yes in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Father, help me this morning, help me this morning that my name I will stand on my nose, and I will stand on my yes, oh Lord, that I will not try to justify it, I will not try to cover up, Father, help me in the mighty name of Jesus, and every spirit, oh Lord, of anger in me, Father, remove it in the mighty name of Jesus. Take anger, take away anger, remove anger in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Thank you, Father. In Jesus' mighty name, we have prayed. Everlasting King of glory. We want to thank you again, oh Lord, for this wonderful period, oh Lord. We thank you for your daughter which you've used to bless us this morning, Father Lord Almighty. We thank you for all the contributors, oh Lord, this morning, Father, we give you all the praise, oh Lord. We can see that, God, you want us to operate in the light. You don't want us to continue in the way of darkness. And that's the reason why you're bringing all this word to us, oh Lord, to check ourselves and to see where we are standing. Each one of us knows where we stand when we're talking about anger. Thank you, Brian, for bringing anger. Thank you for bringing that yesterday again. You know, when we're talking about anger, many of us operate highly in anger, and it's because of insecurity, and many of us operate in lies, it's because of insecurity. I don't know what God has for us tomorrow. Lord, we thank you because, Lord, you want to actually, you know, bring the new newness of you in us, and that's the reason why you're bringing this. We are not pointing fingers to anybody, we are not trying to actually just justify ourselves than better than this. We all operate in one way or the other in the fruit of the flesh. Father, all we need today is for you to help us to remove all this fruit of the flesh in us, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. The rest of the day is into your hand, Father. Help us, guide us and lead us in the mighty name of Jesus. All this word that we have here today, Father Lord Almighty, may we exercise it in the mighty name of Jesus, in everything that we're going to do today and beyond, in the mighty name of Jesus. Thank you, Father. In Jesus' mighty name, we have prayed.

SPEAKER_02

Be with us now. Goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of our lives and shall be the house of the Lord. So shall it be a chief.

SPEAKER_05

Amen. Amen. Thank you, everyone. Have a wonderful day. See you all tomorrow by God's grace.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you.
